Visiting St. Peter’s Basilica
Visitors can access the Basilica through the right hand side colonnade of St. Peter's Square (when facing the Basilica), through the security metal detectors.
Please note that a strict dress code applies, knees and shoulders must be covered at all times.
St. Peter's Basilica
Holy Mass in St. Peter's Basilica:

Monday through Saturday: 8.30, 9.00, 10.00, 11,00, 12.00, 17.00
Sundays and on Festivities: 9.00, 10.30, 11.30, 12.15, 13.00, 16.00, 17.45
Papal Tombs / Vatican Grottoes:
- Admission: Free of charge
- Open Daily:
April –September: 7.00-18.00
October – March: 7.00-17.00
Dome / Cupola:
- Admission: €7,00 (with elevator + 330 stairs) OR €5,00 (stairs only)
- Open Daily:
April –September: 8.00 – 18.00
October – March: 8.00 – 17.00
Scavi / Guided Tour of the Vatican Necropolis & St. Peter’s Tomb:

Every Wednesday at 10:30
- Ticket Request: Write to the “Prefettura della Casa Pontificia, 00120 Città del Vaticano” OR send request via Fax: +30 06 69885863.
- Ticket collection: Access St. Peter’s Basilica through the security metal detectors and enter through the Bronze Doors to the Apostolic Palace. Tickets can be collected on the morning of the Audience from 8.00 to 10.30, and the day before the Audience from 15.00 to 19.30.
Sunday Papal Blessing:
- Admission: Free of Charge
- Open: Every Sunday at 12.00 in St. Peter’s Square (when the Pope is in Rome).
